Advising for SOC Groups

When you register as a student group you are automatically assigned to an advisor through SALP. Your advisor is determined by the type of group you register as (for example, there is one advisor for all of the multicultural groups on campus).Your advisor can be very helpful, especially when first starting out. They are able to answer most questions that you have about processes and resources on campus. Below is the list of SOC advisors. If you have questions feel free to email your advisor. If you need to meet directly with your advisor directly, schedule an appointment in the SALP office SMSU 119. Also click here to see helpful tips from advisors

Other Resources

There are many resources available to student groups. Once you are registered, you will have access to scheduling rooms on campus (form is outside SALP office), free use of equipment (like hand trucks, art supplies, TV/VCR, digital camera, and more), access to student fees for funding, free locker space, use and copy and fax machine and more. Also feel free to contact other Student Groups who you would like to collaborate with. The best way to find out about all of the resources available to you is to attend an SOC/SALP Orientation or talk to your advisor.
